The brand Sailor Strap stands for a small manufactory in Warsaw, which has been producing camera carrying straps made of leather and rope in a traditional way for several years, a symbiosis between sailing and photography. Only the best materials are processed by hand, whereby the idea of sustainability also has a formative influence on the synthetic silk camera strap. An example is the vegetable tanned leather, originally a blend of Italian luxury handbags. The rope itself, on the other hand, is made of so-called polyester silk, a yarn consisting of very fine polyester threads, which are elaborately interwoven to form a rope. The rope made of polyester silk can compete with its natural model in terms of suppleness and noble shine, and in terms of function it can even hold its own. Although it offers a similarly high wearing comfort as silk, it is also tear-resistant, quick-drying, light-fast and dimensionally stable. The camera strap model "Tape Commander" by Sailor Strap is characterized by a rope thickness of 12mm and ends made of robust nylon braiding, which are especially designed for the attachment to cameras with flat camera strap eyelets. It is also one of the thickest available camera straps made of synthetic silk in the Sailor Strap range.
