CECILIA is at the head of a family-run leather, tanning and trading company, now in its 5th generation, which can look back on over 100 years of experience. Designed in New York together with honorary photographers and made of the finest materials worldwide, each camera strap is a unique piece of high quality.

For the shoulder strap offered here, the finest baby alpaca wool was used, a sustainably produced raw material from the Peruvian Andes, whose processing supports the local communities around Cusco, historical capital of Peru.

After shearing, the wool is spun into a hypoallergenic fibre that hardly absorbs any moisture and has an extremely high tensile strength. This natural fiber is then woven by hand on horizontal hipbelt looms, a very old form of backstrap weaving, according to a centuries-old tradition, and combined with the best, surface-treated "full grain" smooth leather from Argentinean cattle. But that's not all: The entire camera strap is pulled through by an extremely tear-resistant nylon fabric, which has been tested for a tensile weight of 113Kg.
