In 2011, professional photographer Katie Norris received a call that would change her life forever. A mother asked her to capture portrait photographs of her young son, who at that time was suffering from a brain tumor, before he would lose his hair due to the upcoming chemotherapy. Beautiful pictures were created that captured the love between mother and child for eternity. Shortly thereafter, the little boy succumbed to his illness. Moved and shaken by this tragic experience, Katie Norris founded her non-profit foundation "Fotolanthropy," which aims through photo and film to tell the stories of people with severe hardships and how they managed to cope with their fate and find their way back to life through inner strength, hope, and love.
