The brand Sailor Strap represents a small workshop in Warsaw, which for several years has been traditionally producing camera straps made of leather and rope, a symbiosis between sailing and photography. Only the best materials are processed by hand, with the idea of sustainability also having a significant influence on the camera strap made of synthetic silk. An example of this is the vegetable-tanned leather, originally made from the offcuts of Italian luxury handbags. The rope itself, on the other hand, consists of so-called polyester silk, a yarn made from very fine polyester threads, which is intricately braided into a rope. The polyester silk rope can easily compete with its natural counterpart in terms of suppleness and elegant shine, and even surpass it in terms of function. Although it offers a similarly high wearing comfort as silk, it is additionally tear-resistant, quick-drying, colorfast, and shape-retaining. Finally, firmly connected to the Italian leather with robust saddler’s thread, each camera strap made of leather and rope is an absolute unique piece.
The camera strap model "Tape Commander" from Sailor Strap is characterized by a rope thickness of a proud 12mm, as well as ends made of robust nylon braid, specially designed for attachment to cameras with flat camera strap lugs. At the same time, it is one of the thickest available camera straps made of synthetic silk in the Sailor Strap range.
