The brand Sailor Strap represents a small workshop in Warsaw, which for several years has been traditionally crafting a handmade shoulder strap for cameras, a symbiosis between sailing and photography. Only the finest materials are processed by hand, with the idea of sustainability also having a defining influence on the leather camera strap made from rope. An example here is the vegetable-tanned leather, originally made from the offcuts of Italian premium handbags. The high-quality shoulder strap for cameras made of rope itself consists of so-called polyester silk, a yarn made from very fine polyester threads, which is intricately braided into a rope. The polyester silk rope can certainly compete with its natural counterpart in terms of suppleness and elegant shine, and even surpass it in terms of function. Although it offers a similarly high wearing comfort as silk, it is additionally tear-resistant, quick-drying, colorfast, and shape-retaining. Finally, securely connected with robust saddler’s thread to the Italian leather and equipped with hardened corrosion-resistant split rings, each leather camera strap made from rope is an absolute unique piece.
